Help Guide Buying A Static Caravan - Lodge

Published: 25th June 2014

Once you have made the decision to buy a static caravan - lodge and chosen the park you like

1, Location of the caravan/lodge on site - the location is the hardest and main thing to get right in the process of buying any caravan/lodge on any holiday park, make sure you visit your choice of pitch location a number of times mainly when it is fully occupied (weekends) to get the true picture of it's location, you also need to consider the caravans around your choice of pitch are they rental caravans/lodges or owner occupied caravans and can you have decking or not (just ask the sales person to find this out) this can make a major difference in your holiday home experience, then there are the people and life styles of those already sited around your choice of pitch, do they match similar to you. DO NOT RUSH when making the caravan/lodge pitch choice because once you have moved on to it you will usually have to buy a new caravan to move to a different pitch.

2 Type of caravan/lodge - this is your own personal choice but be sure to ask the parks sales person about any private caravan/lodge sales that are available on park along with the new sales they offer, old or new standard to prestige if you want a caravan with decking, patio windows, double glazed and central heated just make sure you get the best deal available on your preferred caravan and  include any decking and ground works the pitch may require before you agree a sale.

3, The Handover -  on the big day of getting the keys to your new holiday home take it slow and make sure everything has been done to your agreed contract and expectations, go round with the parks representative that is doing your handover and check everything you can think of and include any outside ground works and general siteing, if there are any problems record them on the handover forms and get a time scale for a repair. When you are totally happy with everything you can sign the papers and enjoy your new holiday home for years to come.
